So I just have nothing to post except unfinished pieces.

But that’s no problem, cause we just call it
WIP and everything is fine... :)

Wow. Did not post anything for a while,
we have a new year and it’s fucking cold outside.
So what else can you do then draw some girls,

Gabriel the Guardian

This is a Character Concept I try to develop in my free time.
I had the idea of a robot design based on the mythology of angels.
But not just to give them wings, but to think about the role they are playing
in the different religions and how the function would influence the look.

So Gabriel the Guardian is a compact and strong guy
who doesn’t need his wings to fly but to protect his body while fighting…

I hope I could do some more of them 'cause I really like the idea.
But we'll see if I'll find enough time.

Rocker Billie

“Rocker Billie” is just another quick character design
inspired by all the good Elvis documentaries on Arte,
I watched this summer.

The holy moustache.

This is my version of a typical German mid-eighties Football player.
I mixed it with a sort of Russian or Byzantine Icon Painting.
`Cause I thought with the mighty power of the holy moustache,
no one could stop us from becoming world champions again.
 

But, I just didn’t know that the Football-God is not an eighties guy…

XII. Innovationspreis.

These are stills from an intro animation I did for a video performance by 
BauhausMaschine for the “XII Innovationspreis Thüringen” Awardshow, back in 2009.
The trophy was designed by Laura Strasser.

 

Sketching again...

Finally it’s spring.
And guess what, I’m drawing Graffiti again.
I’m trying to work on the simplicity of geometric shapes
and the power of the straight line at the moment.
So, here are some very, very fast sketches
from the last night…

Raja is a character concept, which i mad for my portfolio.
It's my first piece in 0one. So I hope you enjoy it,
like I've done while working on it...

Well, I changed the colour concept a bit,
but at least it seems like it was a good idea to do that digital sketch.
'Cause the shading and the "3D" illusion are working like I wanted them to.

There we have a digital layout for the canvas I work on at the moment.
Normally, I don't do such high- detailed sketches before I work on a canvas.
But in that case, I thought i could be a good thing to get an exact impression
of the shadings and colours before I start the "real" work.

And just because I like the "sketch" and just not finished the canvas yet,
I post it here.

Analogue Survivor.

Some impressions from my desktop.


I mean, yes we own that crystal clear TFT screens,
we use the super high-tech graphic cards, that optical
mouse with the ultra high resolution. And of course we
bought that brand new well designed A3 Wacom tablet.

But at the end of the day, I'll always go back
to my pencils, pens and papers.

'Cause there still is nothing better than drawing on a
cheap white paper with a lousy free ballpoint pen.

This is some new 3D stuff,
which I've done for a contest on a German 3D site.
It's still not finished yet. I'll work on a background
to complete the story in the near future, I hope so.
